The Middletown Township Public Schools consists of 17 schools, which include two high schools. Students will attend Harmony Elementary School, and they will then go on to Thorne Middle School. When students enter high school they will attend Middletown North High School.

Middletown provides education to over 10,000 students in the seventeen schools. Education is provided to students in grades kindergarten through twelve.

High school students may elect to attend one of the five magnet high schools in the Monmouth County Vocational School District. These full time high schools offer educations in Marine Sciences, Health and Medical Fields, High Technology, Communications and Bio Technology. In addition, shared programs are available in fields such as various automotive trades and Patient Care/Medical Assisting,  among others.

In addition, there are also private schools in Middletown, and more are in nearby towns. Some of the nearby private schools are Christian Brothers Academy, Red Bank Catholic, St. John Vianney and The Ranney School, among others.

Middletown has the highest population in Monmouth County. You’ll find plenty of shopping and dining along Route 35. Nearby towns on the Atlantic Ocean coast offer many fine seafood restaurants. Here’s a hint – try the Keyport Fishery.

Furthermore, live entertainment is in Red Bank at the Count Basie Theater and the Twin Rivers Theater. Concerts at the PNC Bank Center offer major venue musical entertainment. Sandy Hook is nearby, with numerous beaches. The numerous marinas in the area allow boating enthusiasts to find places to dock their boats. Middletown also has an extensive park system.

The Monmouth County Park System offers use of their eight public golf courses to Monmouth County residents. Numerous county owned parks are also in the vicinity.
